Based in Hong Kong, Metzger joined Citi in 2015 as head of Asia Pacific technology, media and telecoms banking from Credit Suisse.
Yim took over from Ravi Raju, the previous head of Deutsche's Asian wealth business who defected to rival UBS, in October 2016. On taking up the wealth role Yim flagged his intention of adding up to 50 new recruits in the region.
Julius Baer added 110 relationship managers in Asia in 2016 – more than any competitor, excluding those involved in acquisitions – taking its RM headcount to 380, the fifth highest in the region.
The move, effective immediately, follows a reshuffle at the top of the unit following the exit of high-profile rainmaker Mervyn Chow in January.
